Payne, twin sister of Vishous, is cut from the same dark, warrior cloth as her brother: A fighter by nature, and a maverick when it comes to the traditional role of Chosen females, there is no place for her on the Far Side… and no role for her on the front lines of the war, either.

When she suffers a paralyzing injury, human surgeon Dr. Manuel Manello is called in to treat her as only he can- and he soon gets sucked into her dangerous, secret world. Although he never before believed in things that go bump in the night- like vampires- he finds himself more than willing to be seduced by the powerful female who marks both his body and his soul.

As the two find so much more than an erotic connection, the human and vampire worlds collide … just as a centuries old score catches up with Payne and puts both her love and her life in deadly jeopardy

"Well you came and you gave without taking, but I sent you away, oh Manny. Well you kissed me and stopped me from shaking I need you today, oh Manny!"

Oh wait, that's 'Mandy' . . . whatever! He's the real Handy Manny, ok?!?

Man, I love me some Manny! The book was sooo long, and I have dishes and laundry to catch up on, but it was worth the sacrifices. And Payne!! What a fabulous mix of vulnerable, soft, fierce, and loyal. She is my hero, she kicks ass!! Payne is my fav shellan and JM is my fav brother, offically!!

However, I think Lover Unleashed should unofficially be referred to as the PMVJ book. That's Payne Manny Vishous Jane, BTDub. There was as much V & Jane as there was P & Manny. Hold your curses, ladies! It's not a bad thing, NOT at ALL! There is something about V that enthralls me. He is so proud and broken and SXHEXY as hell. And Jane, the ever faithful ghost trying to save her hellren from the unthinkable setting in motion a chain of events that will forever change the Brotherhood. Enter Butch, and it just a pop-some-corn-and-get-settled-for-an-awesome-show kinda thing!

There is so much in this book that it would take me WAY to long to write a proper review. Nevertheless, I will, but tomorrow, I'm tired. The book was great, worth the read. If you are a Brotherhood fan, you probably already read it, and I will check out your reviews tomorrow. I do have a urge to try Lagavulin, for some strange reason! Any theories? haha, ok I've gotta get some sleep, right now! On that note I leave you with a little literary algebra:

(Up/Downs + faux-ghetto metaphors)(muy caliente vamps + ass kickin + GREAT sex scenes) = J.R. Ward
